Basic Pistol Course 2 – Price $140 | Schedule Your Class
Once students have received foundational handgun training and know how to safely handle a handgun, it’s time to learn how to shoot. This is step 2 in our foundational handgun series. Utilizing the SIG (Simple Is Good) principle of handgun training, this course takes students through the efficient and safe use of a handgun. Working from the holster, performing reloads, clearing stoppages, and correctly manipulating a trigger to maximize accuracy are all thoroughly taught in a relaxed, hands-on environment.
Course Outline:
- Handgun selection considerations
- Support equipment
- Shooting basics – the importance of proper grip, sight alignment, sight picture, stance, trigger control, and follow through
- Presentation of the handgun from the holster to the target and safe recovery back to the holster
- Administrative and in-service loading and unloading techniques
- Static shooting positions
- Cleaning and maintenance
Equipment List:
- Quality functional semi-automatic pistol only
- Three (3) magazines
- Magazine pouch
- Dominant side, hip-mounted holster or dominant side, belt-mounted holster
- Please wear long pants with pockets and belt loops, closed toe shoes (no flip flops or sandals), and a crew neck (T-shirt) or button-up shirt (no low-cut neckline)
- Tuition includes free loan of firearms, safety glasses and hearing protection.
